Malaysia to Face Cape Verde in Friendly Match on 29 May

Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has officially confirmed that the Malaysia National Team will take on Cape Verde National Team in a Tier 1 International Match at Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, Cheras, on Thursday, 29 May 2025, at 9:00 PM.

The encounter serves as a key part of Malaysia’s preparations ahead of their Group F showdown in the final round of AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers against Vietnam.

In addition to the main international fixture, Malaysia and Cape Verde will face off once more in a behind-closed-doors training match at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Tuesday, 3 June 2025 — a move designed to provide both teams with additional tactical fine-tuning.

Malaysia began their Group F campaign strongly with a 2-0 victory over Nepal at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on 25 March, while Vietnam made a statement of intent with a 5-0 rout of Laos in Binh Duong.

The much-anticipated Malaysia vs Vietnam qualifying clash is scheduled for Tuesday, 10 June 2025, at 9:00 PM at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium — a fixture that could prove decisive in the race to the 2027 AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
